Communities (SCC) are groups of 8-12 parishioners who meet in the
comfortable setting of one of the member's homes. A scripture passage is read,
followed by reflection and discussion questions. Participants relate religion to
their daily lives and work. Those who have participated have benefited immensely
from these experiences.
Small Christian Community members should commit to attend a
6-week seasonal session. Ongoing groups meet every month. Depending on the
group, meetings will be held throughout the year at various times; for example,
Monthly, Seasonal, Lent, Advent, etc. Some members may choose to be an SCC
leader and facilitate one of the groups. SCC leaders will be given initial
training and periodic follow-ups. Members of an SCC, however, do not need to
have any special training.
