Advent Giving Tree
During Advent, gift
requests made by needy families are placed on the Advent Giving Tree in
The Slipe Center. You are encouraged to take a request, purchase the item(s) and return them unwrapped to
The Slipe Center on the designated
Sundays. Help is always needed to wrap the gifts and then deliver them.
The dates are always listed in the bulletin during just prior to Advent.

When you walked into church you
noticed our annual Giving Tree in the Gathering Space. After much hard
work, social workers from different organizations were able to give us
gift ideas for the individuals and families they work with -- a
difficult task since the people do not ask for anything for themselves,
yet their needs are many.
We are collecting gifts and gift certificates for local needs as well as
families at Sacred Heart School in Jersey City and h.i.p., an
organization that supports individuals and families who are living
independently in spite of physical and mental disabilities.
Please bring your unwrapped gifts along with the tags to the
Gathering Space as early as you can. We will be wrapping the gifts on
December 11th and ask that the gifts be dropped off on or before that
date.
Also note that the gift certificates can be purchased through St.
Peter’s Academy scrip program. The stores “pay back” the school for
every gift certificate sold at no cost to the purchaser. If you choose
to purchase a gift certificate, just take the tag off the tree and give
the tag along with your donation to the individual at the scrip table.
You’ll save time and the school will profit as well.
