Thompson Heritage Room

Next to the St. Peter Shrine is the door to the room named after Nona and
John Thompson, original parishioners who were both witnesses to and
leaders in the major events in the fifty-year year history of the parish.
The Heritage Room displays historical memorabilia and contains the parish
lending library.
In this same area are located men’s and women’s rest rooms and the
sacristy that services the Daily Mass Chapel.
Saint Peter Academy

Straight ahead of you at the end of the Lower Gallery are doors that lead
to St. Peter Academy, our parish school, co-sponsored with Our Lady, Queen
of Peace Parish in Maywood. The school has classes for students in Pre-K 3
through Grade 8, and is staffed by the Religious Teachers Filippini, an
order of nuns that has been in the school since its opening in 1952, and
dedicated lay men and women. The classrooms are also used for religious
instruction for children not in the Catholic school, and the parish
Religious Education Office is located on the first floor corridor. On the
second floor of the school is the new Science Lab, created as part of the
Forward In Faith capital campaign.
