Lent 2026

“Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:40

Mercy in action, week by week.

This Lent, we are growing in faith by intentionally living out the Corporal Works of Mercy. Each week will focus on one or two works, helping us discover how small acts of love can transform hearts through services, events, small groups, and service projects that put mercy into action.

  • Christ calls us to recognize His presence in those who hunger and thirst and to respond with generous love. By sharing food, supporting pantries, or ensuring access to clean water, we help meet immediate needs while witnessing to God’s providence. These everyday acts of mercy become signs of hope and care in a world marked by scarcity.

  • To visit the sick and imprisoned is to bring Christ’s compassion to those who may feel isolated or forgotten. Through our presence, prayer, and listening—whether in hospitals, homes, or correctional facilities—we affirm the dignity of every person. In showing up with mercy, we participate in Christ’s healing and reconciling work.

    Lenten Service Projects

  • Clothing the naked restores dignity and offers comfort to those in vulnerable circumstances. By donating gently used clothing or supporting parish and community drives, we share what we have so others may be protected and respected. This work invites us to see clothing not as excess, but as a gift meant to be shared.

    Lenten Service Projects

  • To shelter the homeless is to welcome the stranger and respond to the need for safety, stability, and belonging. Supporting shelters, housing ministries, or outreach efforts helps create spaces where individuals can experience care and hope. In offering shelter, we reflect God’s desire that no one be left without refuge.

    Lenten Service Projects

  • Burying the dead honors the sacredness of human life and our belief in the resurrection of the body. By praying for the deceased, attending funerals, and comforting those who mourn, we accompany families in their grief with faith and love. This work proclaims our Christian hope in eternal life and God’s abiding mercy.
