Food Pantry Collection at ShopRite (Nov & Dec)
Look for the bin right after checkout!
Shop Rite of New Milford has once again graciously offered to collect donations for our St. Peter’s Food Pantry during the months of November and December. We are so grateful that we are able to continue our mission of helping those with food insecurities—please consider helping us.
The bin is located right after check out, and some of our most needed items are soup, cereal, tuna fish, canned vegetables, and coffee.
Advent Prayer Challenge
This Advent, beginning December 1st, we invite you to slow down, breathe, and enter the season with intention. Our parish will be journeying together through Hallow’s Pray25: Be Still — a beautiful daily prayer series designed to help us quiet our hearts and draw closer to Christ. Families can join the Kids Advent Challenge: Finding Fiat and make prayer part of their Advent rhythm at home.
Listen independently — no meetings or set times! Use the app or listen online from a computer. Join in any time!
Already using Hallow?
Open the app, tap Community, visit our parish page, and join the Advent challenge.
New to Hallow?
Visit hallow.com/parish, search for our parish (zip 07661), and follow the prompts. You’ll receive access to a special trial of Hallow’s full content, or you can simply “Skip” to stay on the free version and still join our parish community and Advent challenge.
About the Challenges
Pray25: Be Still invites us into the story of the Nativity through Scripture, reflections from The Reed of God and The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, and quiet moments of contemplative prayer.
Kids Advent: Finding Fiat follows Grace Brumley from Saints Alive as she prepares to play Mary in her school nativity — a fun, faith-filled way for families to pray together each day.
About Hallow
Hallow is the world’s #1 Catholic prayer app, featuring guided prayer, reflections, sleep stories, sacred music, and voices you may already love — Fr. Mike Schmitz, Sr. Miriam, Bishop Barron, Jonathan Roumie, and more.

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
On Monday, December 8th, we celebrate the Immaculate Conception, giving thanks for Mary and the unique way God prepared her to bring Jesus into the world. Masses will be held at 9:00am and 7:30pm. Since this is a holy day of obligation, we hope you’ll join us as we come together in prayer and gratitude.
Please note the Parish Office is closed this day.
An Advent Evening of Peace and Friendship 12/9
Advent is more than checking days off until Christmas. Besides being the first day of the Catholic New Year, it’s a season of preparation. It’s an invitation to take stock of our souls, to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord, both at Christmas and at His second coming. However, Advent takes place in our already crowded lives during a season of unrivaled chaos.
There are four Sundays of Advent. On each of the preceding Tuesdays — 11/25, 12/2, 12/9 and 12/16 — at 7:30 PM in the Chapel or on Zoom, the Small Christian Communities (SCC) Core Committee is offering ADVENT Evenings of Peace & Friendship to create a space of calm and reflection to help with our preparation.
We hope you’ll be able to gather with us at one or more of these gatherings. If you do not plan to attend in person, please email SCC@saint-peter.org for the link and passcode to the Zoom meeting.
Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join us for our Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 13th following the 5pm Mass, when we'll light the evergreens outside our church decorated from the Christmas Tree Dedications. After the ceremony, all are invited to a festive Community Saturday "Wine & Cheese" with Christmas cookies and hot cocoa!
Please consider contributing wine, an appetizer or dessert towards this special Community Saturday! Sign up here.
