Blessing of Throats (Feast of St. Blaise)
Join us for Daily Mass at 9:00 AM on the Feast of St. Blaise, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, with the traditional Blessing of Throats. We invite all parishioners to come and receive this special blessing, asking God’s protection for our health and well-being.
St. Blaise was a bishop and martyr of the early Church, remembered especially for his care for the sick. According to tradition, he healed a child who was choking, which led to the custom of blessing throats on his feast day. Blood Drive
During Lent, we invite you to live out the corporal work of mercy “Visit the Sick” by giving the gift of life at our parish blood drive. Each donation is a simple yet powerful act of compassion, bringing hope and healing to those who are ill or hospitalized. The blood drive will take place in the Gym on Sunday, March 1, hosted by the St. Peter Academy Student Council in partnership with New Jersey Blood Services (rescheduled from January 18 due to winter weather).
With blood supplies at critically low levels, there is an urgent need for donors. Right now, patients across our region are depending on the generosity of donors to ensure hospitals have the blood they need when lives are on the line. Inspired by our faith and the sacrificial love symbolized in the Blood of Christ, our students invite all who are eligible to participate in this meaningful act of mercy.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly encouraged. Thank you for helping put faith into action.
Letter-Writing to the Homebound
Join us at Community Sunday in the Parish Center following all Masses on Sunday, March 1st for a simple yet meaningful Lenten Service Project. As we reflect this week on the Corporal Works of Mercy themes Visit the Sick and Visit the Imprisoned, we are invited to reach out to those who may feel isolated or unseen. Together, we’ll make cards and write letters to our homebound parishioners, offering a reminder that they are remembered and never alone. All are welcome—your presence and a few kind words can be a true work of mercy.
Lenten Parish Mission 2026
Come be inspired. Go serve with mercy.
Our 2026 Lenten Parish Mission takes place on Sunday, March 1st at 7:00 PM. We’ll be dedicating one evening of reflection and renewal with our amazing guest speaker, Sister Pia Jude of the Sisters of Life. Through her stories and lived experience, Sr. Pia Jude will invite us to rediscover how Christ calls us to love concretely—to serve others with compassion, generosity, and joy. Come be inspired, refreshed, and encouraged as we continue to journey together through this sacred season of Lent.
This evening is meant to be shared—please invite a friend, neighbor, co-worker or family member to attend with you. There will be an opportunity to speak with some of the sisters following the main talk, as well!
About Our Guest Speaker
Sister Pia Jude, S.V. entered the Sisters of Life in 2013 and professed her perpetual vows in 2021 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. A native of Secaucus, New Jersey, she holds a Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law and a degree in English and Philosophy from Saint Peter’s University, and previously practiced law in Manhattan. She has served in a variety of community missions, including college outreach, the Archdiocese of New York Respect Life Office, and the Coworkers of Life mission.
Visits at the Senior Residence
During the week of March 2–6, we invite you to put faith into action through the Corporal Works of Mercy Visit the Sick and Visit the Imprisoned by spending time with the seniors at The Residence at St. Peter’s. In the Church’s tradition, these Corporal Works of Mercy include those who may feel confined by illness or loss of independence, and your presence offers companionship and a reminder that they are seen, valued and not forgotten.
Please sign up and plan to bring a simple activity to share with the seniors, such as a game, craft, or conversation starter. You can view our handy list of suggestions if helpful. Individuals, families, and groups are welcome.
Please visit our Welcome Desk on Sundays if you need assistance signing up. Questions? Contact Gina at 201-225-0707 or Marissa at 201-261-3366.

[POSTPONED] Blood Drive
This Blood Drive has been postponed due to Sunday’s winter storm.
A blood drive will be held in the Gym on [to be announced]. It’s organized by St. Peter Academy Student Council and New Jersey Blood Services.
We are currently experiencing a blood shortage emergency and there is an urgent call for donors. Holiday disruptions, severe winter weather, canceled blood drives, and widespread seasonal illnesses have led to a significant decline in blood donations, resulting in critically low blood levels across the region. This leaves a very low supply of blood available at hospitals.
Students from the SPA Student Council decided to host a blood drive because, as Catholics, we are reminded that the Blood of Christ, poured out for us in love, is a sign of sacrifice, mercy, and life itself. By encouraging those of age to give blood, our students are responding to that same call—to give of ourselves so that others may live, heal, and be strengthened. This blood drive is more than a service project; it is an expression of our faith in action.
While walk-ins are welcome, we encourage you to pre-schedule an appointment. Thank you for your support!
